Study in Saudi Portal Problems 2026: Registration, Passport, Application & Error Fixes

Saudi Scholarships12 min read read

Getting a Study in Saudi application error when you are already trying to submit a scholarship application can be stressful—especially when the application deadline is approaching.

Students commonly report problems such as:

  • Unable to register
  • Unable to log in
  • Forgotten username or password
  • Wrong passport information
  • Wrong qualification information
  • Application details that cannot be edited
  • “Previous scholarship” error
  • Application returned
  • Application rejected
  • Documents not uploading
  • Application stuck at Under Process
  • Submit button not working
  • Portal loading or technical errors

The most important thing is not to start changing information randomly or creating duplicate applications.

Some problems have straightforward fixes. Others are not actually technical errors at all—they are rules built into the Study in Saudi system. And some problems require the official Study in Saudi technical-support team because applicants cannot change the information themselves.

This guide explains what to do for the most common Study in Saudi portal problems in 2026, using the current official FAQ and student user guide wherever the Ministry provides an answer. If you are preparing your overall application, read our comprehensive Study in Saudi Step-by-Step Portal & Document Guide.

LISAN.PK is tracking the announced application submission period as:

16 September 2026 – 6 October 2026

Check all deadlines on our Saudi University Scholarship Deadlines 2026/27 Tracker. If you experience an account, passport or application problem, try to resolve it early rather than waiting until the final day.

Study in Saudi Problems: Quick Fix Table

Problem What You Should Do
Forgot password / username Use Recover Password
Activation/login problem Check the registered email and account activation
Wrong contact/address Can generally be edited
Wrong passport after submission Do not assume it can be edited; contact official support
Wrong qualification after submission Official FAQ says non-contact data cannot normally be edited
“Previous scholarship” error May reflect the rule against two scholarships at the same degree level
Application returned Read the portal reason/action first; correct what is permitted
Application rejected Check the stated reason; rejection is not automatically a technical error
Under Process Continue monitoring; review passes through university and then Ministry after university approval
Documents won't upload Check the field requirements and troubleshoot the file/browser; escalate if persistent
Cannot submit Confirm your profile is complete and all required application sections are finished
Portal not working Try basic browser troubleshooting; use official technical support if persistent

Below, we explain each situation in detail.

1. I Forgot My Study in Saudi Password

This is one of the easiest problems to resolve.

The official Study in Saudi FAQ says that if you forget your password or username, you should use the platform's Recover Password option.

What to do

Go to the login page and select:

Recover Password / استعادة كلمة المرور

Follow the recovery process using your registered account details.

Do not create another account immediately

If your existing account already contains your profile or application information, creating another account may make the situation more complicated. Try account recovery first.

2. Study in Saudi Registration Problem

The official student guide shows that account registration involves entering the required identity information and receiving verification through the registered email.

The portal sends a verification code to the email address supplied during registration, followed by an account-activation link used to activate the account and set the password.

If you registered but cannot complete activation:

Check:

  • Is the email address correct?
  • Did you receive the verification message?
  • Did you check Spam/Junk?
  • Did you complete account activation?
  • Are you trying to log into the same account you registered?

If the email or registration process remains stuck, use official technical support rather than repeatedly creating new accounts.

3. Study in Saudi Login Problem

A login problem can come from several different causes:

  • Incorrect password
  • Incorrect username
  • Account activation not completed
  • Browser/session problem
  • Portal-side technical issue

Start with the official password-recovery route. If your credentials are correct but the login still fails, try basic browser troubleshooting:

  1. Close and reopen the browser.
  2. Try a private/incognito window.
  3. Clear the Study in Saudi site cookies/cache.
  4. Try an updated mainstream browser.
  5. Temporarily disable browser extensions that may block forms or scripts.
  6. Try another internet connection if the page is not loading correctly.

These are general technical troubleshooting steps, not official Ministry fixes. If the error remains, create an official technical-support ticket.

4. I Entered the Wrong Information in My Study in Saudi Application

This is one of the most important portal rules to understand.

The current official Study in Saudi FAQ says:

Address and contact details can be edited at any time, but other application information cannot be edited.

This means a mistake in qualification, academic details, passport information, personal information, or other non-contact application data should not be treated like a simple editable field after submission.

If you have NOT submitted yet

Correct the information before submitting. The student guide shows that applicants complete their personal profile, basic data, additional data, educational qualifications and attachments before making the academic application.

If you HAVE already submitted

Do not assume you can edit the information yourself. If the mistake is important, contact Study in Saudi technical support and clearly explain your application number, incorrect information, correct information, reason for correction, and supporting evidence.

5. I Entered the Wrong Passport Number

Students frequently search: “Cannot change passport Study in Saudi.”

The official FAQ does not currently provide a separate passport-edit procedure. It does, however, state that after application submission, only address and contact information can be edited; other data cannot normally be changed.

A passport number is therefore not something you should assume can be freely changed in a submitted application.

If You Have Not Submitted

Correct your passport details before submission. Check your full name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, and issue/expiry details against the passport itself.

If You Already Submitted

Use official support. Do not create a new application simply to experiment with correcting the passport. That can create another problem, as explained below.

6. My Passport Was Renewed After I Applied

A renewed passport is slightly different from entering a wrong passport number. Your old information may have been accurate when you applied, but you now have a new passport.

Because the official FAQ does not publish a general self-service passport-update procedure for a submitted application, the safest approach is:

  1. Keep copies of both passports if available.
  2. Keep your application number.
  3. Contact official Study in Saudi support.
  4. Explain that the passport was renewed.
  5. Attach supporting evidence when requested.

Do not simply replace numbers in unrelated fields.

7. My Qualification Is Wrong in Study in Saudi

Before an application is submitted, educational qualifications and attachments are entered as part of the applicant's personal profile. So if you notice an error while still preparing the profile, correct it before submission.

Examples include wrong degree, university, graduation year, marks, CGPA, or qualification level.

After submission, the official FAQ says information other than address/contact cannot normally be edited. If a major academic detail is wrong after submission, contact official support. Do not leave a known false qualification in the application.

8. “You Cannot Apply Because You Previously Received a Scholarship”

This is a very specific Study in Saudi error.

The official FAQ directly addresses the message stating that an applicant cannot apply because they previously received a scholarship. The Ministry's answer is that a student cannot receive two scholarships at the same academic degree level.

For example, if the system recognizes that you have already received a scholarship at the same degree level, the message may reflect an eligibility rule rather than a browser error. Read our guide on Saudi Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for Pakistani Students 2026 to review all eligibility parameters.

What should you do?

First ask: Have I genuinely received a previous Saudi scholarship at this same degree level?

  • If yes: The message may be applying the official rule.
  • If no: If you believe the system is incorrectly identifying you as a previous scholarship recipient, contact official technical support. Provide evidence and explain that you believe the record is incorrect.

Do not try to bypass the message by using false information.

9. I Already Have an Application — Should I Create Another One?

Be very careful here.

The official Study in Saudi student guide contains an important warning:

If you already have a previous application for a study program, you may be able to apply to a new program, but submitting the new application can automatically cancel the previous application.

This means: Do not create a second application merely as a troubleshooting experiment.

Before submitting another program/application, understand what will happen to your existing request. This is particularly important when your first application is Under Process, already reviewed, waiting on a university, or submitted to a preferred program.

10. Can I Edit My Study in Saudi Application After Submitting?

The official answer is limited. According to the Study in Saudi FAQ:

You can edit:

  • Address
  • Contact information

Other submitted data:

Cannot normally be edited through the application.

This is why applicants should review everything carefully before pressing Submit. Check your name, passport, qualification, marks, CGPA, university choices, program level, and attachments before completing the final submission. Use our complete Saudi Scholarship Application Checklist (25 Checks Before You Submit) to run a final quality-control review.

11. My Study in Saudi Application Was Returned

A Returned application should not automatically be treated as the same thing as a rejection.

The currently accessible official FAQ does not publish one universal explanation for every “Returned” status. Therefore, your first step should be to open the application and check whether the portal displays a reason, note, requested correction, missing document, action button, or resubmission instruction.

If the portal allows a correction

Correct exactly what has been requested.

If the requested field is locked

Do not alter unrelated information. Create an official support ticket and attach a screenshot.

Do not guess why the application was returned—the reason shown inside your particular application is key.

12. My Study in Saudi Application Was Rejected

A rejected application is not necessarily a portal error. A rejection may relate to eligibility, academic background, university decision, program requirements, documents, or scholarship availability.

First, open the application and look for any reason or remark. The official FAQ explains that after an application is submitted, it first goes through the university selected by the applicant; if the university approves it, the application is then processed by the Ministry of Education.

If the rejection is clearly an academic/admission decision

Technical support may not be able to reverse it.

If you believe the rejection resulted from a technical or incorrect-data problem

Document the problem and submit an official support request. Never pay anyone who claims they can “change” a university rejection through contacts.

13. Study in Saudi Application Is Under Process

Seeing Under Process for days or weeks can make applicants nervous. But an application needs to move through official review stages.

The Study in Saudi FAQ states that after submission:

The application goes to the selected university, and after university approval it is processed by the Ministry of Education.

Therefore, an application remaining under review does not automatically mean something is wrong. Submitted applications and their statuses can be found under My Applications / My Requests, where applicants can click the application number to view details.

What should you do?

  • Continue monitoring the portal.
  • Open your application details.
  • Check your registered email.
  • Look for requests for additional action.
  • Avoid submitting duplicate applications without understanding the consequences.

How long does Under Process take?

The current FAQ does not publish one guaranteed processing time for scholarship decisions. Avoid claims that "Under Process always changes within 7 days"—there is no universal timeline.

14. Study in Saudi Documents Won't Upload

Document-upload problems can be caused by file size, unsupported file type, corrupted file, browser issue, connection problem, or portal overload.

Before uploading, ensure your documents are properly translated and verified. For official Arabic translations of educational certificates, see our Arabic Attestation & Certified Translation Service. Also check the full Required Documents for Saudi Scholarship List.

Troubleshooting Uploads:

  1. Make sure the scan is clear and readable.
  2. Use the file type requested by the portal (usually PDF or image formats).
  3. Remove unusual symbols or spaces from the filename.
  4. Re-save or compress the file if it is corrupted or oversized.
  5. Try a different browser or private window.
  6. Check your internet connection stability.

If the same valid document repeatedly fails, capture a screenshot and open a technical-support ticket.

15. My PDF Is Too Large

Do not reduce a document so aggressively that text becomes unreadable, stamps disappear, marks cannot be read, QR codes become unusable, or pages are missing.

If the upload field specifies a maximum size, compress the document while preserving legibility. Check the final file after compression before uploading it. The university needs to be able to read what you submit.

16. Study in Saudi Submit Button Is Not Working

One common reason applicants cannot begin or complete an application is an incomplete profile.

The current Study in Saudi interface explicitly states that applicants must complete the personal information in their profile before starting a study application.

The required sequence is: Create account → Complete profile → Fill qualifications and attachments → Start academic program application → Select degree/preferences/universities → Submit.

If the submit button is non-responsive, verify that all sections, preferences, and mandatory attachments are uploaded. Take a screenshot of any on-screen validation errors.

17. Study in Saudi Portal Is Not Working

A portal-wide technical problem and an account-specific problem are different.

First determine: Can you open the Study in Saudi homepage?

  • If yes: Your issue may be account-specific.
  • If no: It may be a temporary server problem, heavy application traffic, or network issue.

Try refreshing later, using another browser, clearing cookies, or trying another internet connection. Do not keep changing your application data because the page is slow.

If a technical failure prevents submission, record the date, time, error message, screenshot, and application number, and contact official support.

18. Study in Saudi Keeps Showing an Error Page

If the portal displays a technical error, provide details in your support request rather than just saying "Portal not working."

A useful report includes:

  • Full name & application number
  • Exact error message & screenshot
  • Page URL where it occurs
  • What action you were attempting
  • Date, time, and browser details

19. How to Contact Official Study in Saudi Technical Support

The official Study in Saudi portal provides both a telephone contact route and a technical-support ticket system.

  • Unified Call Center Number: 19996
  • Service Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (KSA Time).
  • Online Tickets: Technical inquiries are answered within 24 hours.

The official support form asks for your full name, identity number, mobile number, email, category, subcategory, subject, description, and screenshot attachments (up to 2 MB). Note that the 2 MB limit applies to the technical-support ticket attachment, not scholarship document uploads.

What Should I Write in a Study in Saudi Support Ticket?

Avoid vague messages. Instead of "My application has problem fix please," write:

Subject: Unable to correct passport number after submission

I submitted application [application number]. I noticed that the passport number entered in my application is incorrect. The correct passport number is [correct number]. The submitted application does not allow me to edit this field. I have attached a screenshot and passport copy. Please advise how the information can be corrected.

Before Contacting Official Support: Save These Details

Keep your application number, registered email, exact error wording, screenshots, date/time, correct information, and supporting documents ready. Never send your passwords or OTP verification codes to third parties.

Common Mistakes to Avoid When a Portal Error Appears

  1. Do Not Create Multiple Accounts Immediately: Recover your existing account first.
  2. Do Not Submit a New Application Just to Test the Portal: A new study application can automatically cancel a previous submission.
  3. Do Not Enter False Passport Details: Use your actual official document information.
  4. Do Not Change Your Qualification to Bypass an Error: False entries can result in disqualification.
  5. Do Not Assume “Under Process” Means Rejected: Applications pass through university and Ministry stages.
  6. Do Not Share Credentials: Keep your passwords and OTPs private.
  7. Do Not Wait Until 6 October to Fix Known Errors: Resolve technical issues early in the window.
